The challenges of the past two years could have meant the end of Ashokan as we know it, but your generosity got us through. This spring, Ashokan hosted 2,500 students and teachers, and we are about to start a joyful and inspiring summer filled with music, dancing, arts and adventure in the great outdoors.
Your steady support has allowed us to share Ashokan’s magic with under-resourced and underserved people in our community. Examples include:
A free community-building day for local Afghan refugees and their host families
A summer day camp for kids from nearby Kingston, NY
Environmental education scholarships for students from local Title 1 schools
Flexible pricing for Music & Dance Camps & the Summer Hoot
And with your help we are able to move forward with:
Raising the minimum wage for Ashokan employees
Upgrading our campus by improving signage, lighting, trails and trail maps as well as combating invasive species and erosion
To keep this important work moving forward, we need the support of the extended Ashokan community, so we’ve launched a campaign to raise $750,000 by August 31. After hearing about our ambitious goal, Edmund Littlefield Jr. and the Sage Foundation pledged to match all donations up to $375,000!
That means your gift will be doubled. With your continued support we will meet this challenge and keep the magic moving forward!
With gratitude,
